Primal Noms Basics – Pesto

I love the versatility of pesto. Rub it on chicken or fish & roast. Use as a sauce base for pizza. Pour over veggies & bake for an easy side dish. Toss with spaghetti squash for a Primal “pasta” dish. The list goes on.

This pesto is easy to make & has a great flavor balance of basil & garlic. My recipe uses almonds instead of pine nuts because I usually have almonds in the kitchen and not pine nuts, but you can use pine nuts if you prefer. Give it a try & let me know what you paired your pesto with!


Pesto - Primal Noms

1/2 cup olive oil

1/2 cup grated parmesan

6 garlic cloves

2 cups fresh basil

3 tbs. almonds

Salt & pepper

Add all ingredients, except the salt & pepper, to a Vitamix/food processor/blender & blend until desired texture. Add salt & pepper to taste.
